19->Adhesive labels for frozen surfaces and extreme humidity

We have always made efforts to widen the bandwidth of product properties. For the identification with self-adhesive labels this means to be able to ensure a good bond in different climatic conditions
and to achieve good adhesion to a wide range of surfaces. Moisture, dust and oil represent barriers for adhesives – they prevent the adhesive from developing a permanent bond with the actual medium. The new PK-80-651 and PK-50-701 GRAPHIPLAST® adhesives
combine many of these properties in one product and help to create adhesive labels for a wide range of applications. They can be used, e.g. for sticking to surfaces affected by moisture and hoar frost.
Application: Adhesion in freezing and high moisture conditions
Your benefit: Secure identification with universal adhesives

18->Engineering companies as logistics centers in supply chain management
Parts identification in engineering companies is an extremely complex task. The machine parts configuration is at least as versatile as the accessories with which the shipping information and specifications are attached to the parts. A leading engineering company in the energy sector counts on automatic data capture via barcode for parts logistics. The best results for reliable data capture were achieved by a GRAPHIPLAST® combination label with multi-functional
fastening options suitable for laser printers.
Two
self-adhesive sections are used for recording when the goods are received and to check against the delivery documents. Another special feature:
the labels are individualized and sent to suppliers with the orders to ensure that the process of receiving goods in the plant runs smoothly and consistently.
Application: The versatile solution: combination label for parts logistics
Your benefit: Standardized labeling in the supply chain

17->GRAPHIPLAST® 7377 for 580 C / 1100 F
developed further
Worldwide shipping of hot-rolled products places high demands on identification. In the rolling mill, labeling starts at high temperatures and due to high mechanical stress during loading and transport,
a robust solution is required. The new, stronger GRAPHIPLAST® 7377 in 180 μ has virtually unlimited tear resistance. The improved properties such as the label’s stability make it an ideal data carrier for automatic data capture via barcode. Numerous customers have confirmed to us: GRAPHIPLAST® 7377 is the modern replacement for embossed metal tags.
Application: Secure identification at 1100 °F
Your benefit: Barcode labeling at 1100 °F using
conventional printers

16->Turkish wire rod manufacturer
goes for two-track solution
Turkey is a booming market. Local companies export a high percentage of their products and try to meet the requirements of the receiving countries. For wire rods this poses quite a challenge. The use of modern labeling solutions has not been possible up to now due to the high temperatures of up to 1100 °F. Since 2006, S+P have been offering an alternative to metal tags with their GRAPHIPLAST® 7377 material. Instead of rigid embossed metal tags, flexible, printable data carriers and barcodes are being used. As an economical option, two different products can be used: in areas where the maximum temperature is up to 600 °F, GRAPHIPLAST® 75250 is used as a proven and cost-saving solution. The combination of both materials offers an optimum cost/performance ratio.
Application: Barcode identification for wire rods
Your benefit: Labeling to international standards

15-> Secure labelling in icy temperatures
Work processes do not take a winter break. This also applies to identification of incoming goods. In Steel Service Centers this means that labels must stick to cold, wet and frosted products. Even if temperatures are extremely low, the process must be continued. Standard labels do not adhere at temperatures below 5 °C/40 F and the goods have to be “acclimatized” before the label can be applied. This is not required with the newly developed PA-50-701 adhesive. GRAPHIPLAST® labels can now be used at temperatures to
-20 °C.
Application: Secure labelling, even in winter.
Benefit: Quick and secure labelling at temperatures below!

14-> Adhesion to sensitive stainless steel surfaces
The manufacturing of specialty stainless steel surfaces is time-consuming and expensive. To ensure a smooth material flow,
self-adhesive labels are used for this process. They control the packaging process as well as warehouse and shipping logistics. Mirror surfaces are a particular challenge for labeling. Labels must provide a secure bond and at the same time be removable. But it doesn’t end here – the area where the adhesive was applied to the surface must not be visible – not even as a label “shadow”. Labels made from GRAPHIPLAST® 7177 with a special adhesive leave no
trace – guaranteed – for a mirror finish on fridges and sinks.
Application: 100% removable adhesion to stainless steel
Benefit: An all-round talent for material flow
control

13->Tire logistics in rely on GRAPHIPLAST
Branded tires from different manufacturers are distributed by a leading logistics company. Warehouse organisation and picking items for deliveries require a barcode label with a good adhesion to rubber. GRAPHIPLAST® 7177, in combination with a special adhesive, provides optimum adhesion to tires. The data is printed on the label by thermal transfer printers. As the labels are only used for a short period of time, the excellent price/performance ratio of the solution made the difference.
Application: Perfect adhesion to rubber
Benefit: An all-round talent for material flow
control

12-> Increased printer availability using cabinets
Thermal transfer or laser printers for barcode applications in production and warehouse environments are often exposed to cold, oily air, dust and, sometimes even incorrect handling of printers can markedly reduce the availability of the devices. As user-friendly
laser printers are more and more widely used for this type of application,
a protective cabinet
has now been
de-veloped which eliminates all these influences. The air is filtered, the heating switches on automatically to protect against frost and the cabinet can be locked which also offers protection against theft. With this solution, troubleshooting by network administrators has been markedly
reduced and the life-span of the printers increased.
Application: Increasing reliability of label printers
Benefit: Less time spent on printing systems administration

11->Steel Service Center optimizes warehouse org.
Due to the ample range of different products, full identification and data capture on suitable media are a challenge. In order to increase the efficiency in their logistical process, a Service Center recently changed over to material tracking via barcode. Whether it is for warehousing,
processing or shipping: the straightforward handling of laser printers and the customized label solution with GRAPHIPLAST® 7297 already proved their worth in the trial phase. As a tag and
self-adhesive combination, our labels are the business cards on all products in steel service centers.
Application: Multifunctional solutions for steel service centers
Benefit: Transparency in the warehouse and perfect appearance

10->
Color codes for material flow control
Whether it is for status monitoring of containers or
passing through gauge andtesting stations - for the
material flow theavailability of status information
is essential. A forklift truck driver must be able to
see from his vehicle where a material is to be taken.
Labels and documentsmade
fromGRAPHIPLAST®can
be printed in advance. Thecolor coding can then beremoved after the various processes, because of its
perforations. In this way, color coding makes it possible
to recognize the origin ofmaterials and to safely control
allocation to a delivery. For more complex processes,
forinstance in multi-stage manufacturing with status
monitoring, the S+PMulticolor® code, a software
based status monitoring system,
offers secure options
for material flow control.
Application: High-level
material flow control
Benefit: Reliable process
control through clear identification
